About Eric
I’ve lived my entire life in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Nearly my entire family tree lived in Baton Rouge. There were no summer trips to Grandma and Grandpa’s. That was only a twenty minute trip across town. Childhood and adulthood travels alike were confined to the contiguous states of the southeast. All trips were road trips. I never flew on a plane until...well, we’ll call it my late thirties. By late, I mean, it literally couldn’t be any later. If I had a bucket list then it was something to be crossed off. It was a remarkable trip. Idaho (ie. not the southeast). My travel map no longer contiguous! My first flight, only clouds underneath me, is probably much more appreciated as an adult. Climbing thousands of feet into the air is an extraordinary feeling. The road trip, though. Miles of asphalt, sometimes dirt, between me and home and the places in between. It’s still my favorite way to travel.
About Stacy
I grew up in Jubail, Saudi
Arabia. I guess I'm what some would call an "Oil Brat." In
Jubail, I attended an international school and I lived in an international
community. My summers were spent with my family traveling the world, much
like "The Griswold’s." I’ve been to more countries than US
states. This might explain the culture shock when we repatriated to Baton
Rouge, Louisiana. Competitive swimming
was a childhood passion of mine that later evolved into lifeguarding, swim
coaching, and becoming an aquatic director for the YMCA. As a director
for the YMCA, I lived in Pennsylvania and New Hampshire for a few years.
However, the cold winters were not really for this southern girl! I
moved back to home base, Baton Rouge, and I have been here since. I’m
fascinated by people, food, cultures and art in my own city and places I’ve not
yet discovered.
